One Strong Arm is a Dublin based letterpress print studio.

The studio aims to provide a new production option for designers and printers, with more focus on an involved and collaborative approach to print production.

Me Jewel and Darlin’ Dublin

Me Jewel and Darlin’ Dublin is a a new series of limited edition letterpress prints by One Strong Arm. The work has been commissioned as part of St Patrick’s Festival’s I Love My City Programme. The show is named after Eamonn MacThomais’ affectionately titled account of Dublin life from 1974. This series celebrates some of the great things about the city — a snapshot of tales told through the writings, thoughts and musings of some of the great people Dublin has produced, and takes place in the beautiful setting of Marsh’s Library. The work is a mixture of antique wooden type, metal type, hand-cut prints and illustration. Each piece is letterpress printed and in an edition of 25. Marsh’s Library, March 14th — 31st

First Things First

First Things First is a collaboration between One Strong Arm and Mick Minogue, illustrator and maker extraordinare. The series of prints – produced using antique wooden and metal type – takes inspiration from the opening lines of classic 20th Century literature. The incredibly talented Mick will explore the narrative of each book to produce the accompanying illustrations.

This is the first in a series of collaborations between OSA and a selection of designers, artists, printers, makers and doers. It also marks the official opening of the OSA doors.

The exhibition took place in The Irish Georgian Society, 58 South William Street, Dublin, November 13th—22th.
